Schuster Art Gallery Invitational Exhibit
Now-July 21; Nash Library, Third Floor
The Schuster Art Gallery located at Gannon
University will host its "First Invitational
Exhibit" in celebration of the 40th Annual
Erie Summer Festival of the Arts. The opening
reception is Friday, June 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. on the
third floor of the Nash Library. The exhibit is
co-sponsored by Dr. John Jageman, M.D. and honors
Erie area artists and will be on display through
July 21. The Nash Library is located at 619

"Orson's Shadow"
July 10-13, 16-20; Erie Playhouse
The Erie Playhouse located at 13 West 10th Street in
Erie will premiere Austin Pendleton's "Orson's
Shadow." "Orson's Shadow" is based on
actual events in the lives of Orson Welles, Laurence
Olivier, Joan Plowright, and Vivian Leigh and stars
Gannon University's own Fr. Shawn Clerkin. For more

Panegyri Greek Festival
July 11-13; Assumption Greek Orthodox Church
The Assumption Greek Orthodox Church located at 4376
West Lake Road in Erie will host their 20th annual
festival.
Greek food and pastries, art exhibits, live music,
vendors, dancing, and entertainment will be
available. Admission and parking are free. Hours of
operation are: Friday, July 11 from 2:30 until 11
p.m.; Saturday, July 12 from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.;
Sunday, July 13 from noon until 9 p.m. For more

The Schuster Theatre presents "Shakespeare Summer
Nights"
July
24-August 2; A.J.'s Way
Gannon University's Schuster Theatre presents the "5th
Annual Shakespeare Summer Nights" with
performances outdoors in A.J.'s Way adjacent to the
Gannon Arch on West 7th Street. Performances are as
follows: William Shakespeare's comedy "As You
Like It," directed by Zach Flock, will be
performed July 24-26 at 7 p.m.; and the well-known
tragedy, "Hamlet" will be performed July
31-August 2, and is director by Fr. Shawn Clerkin.

ShakeXperience Gannon
July 28-August 2; Gannon University
The Theatre, Communication, and Fine Arts
Department of Gannon University will host a one-week
workshop for high school students interested in
theatre performance. Classes in Shakespeare, text
analysis, stage movement, rehearsal, and performance
will be offered. Workshops in stage combat, period
dance, and music will also be available. The week
will include a public performance of "Cymbeline"
as part of the "5th Annual Shakespeare Summer
Nights" theatre performances. For more

International Exhibit at Gannon University
All Summer; Nash Library
Now, you can see the world without
ever leaving the comforts of Gannon University’s
Nash Library. This summer, the library is hosting an
exhibit of artifacts from various countries to pay
tribute to Gannon’s ever-growing international
community. Items will be on display from the
Bahamas, China, Ecuador, India, Kenya, the
Netherlands, Poland, Turkey and more! The Nash

Summer Programs at the Erie Planetarium
All summer long the Erie Planetarium located at 356
West 6th Street will host two different shows: "The
Sky Over Mr. Roger's Neighborhood," every
Thursday at 1:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 3 p.m., and "The
Planets" narrated by Kate Mulgrew, every

Ladies on Parade

The exhibit will feature the best in women's fashion
from decade to decade, as well as famous women who
have called Erie home. The exhibit will also
feature Erie's grand lady Sarah Reed, who helped the

Holy Trinity Youth Program
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church located at 643 West
17th Street in Erie hosts youth programs every
Tuesday and Wednesday. Basketball and kick ball
programs are offered for children in grades 1
through 8 every Tuesday from 3:30 until 5 p.m.
Basketball programs are also offered on Wednesdays
for young people ages 6 through 11 at 5:30 p.m., and
for ages 12 through 18 at 6:30 p.m. Free dinners for
youths and adults, a clothes closet, and a food
