The History of Super Soul Saturday |
|
Super Soul Saturday has been a part of WERG’s line-up in various forms since the station’s inception in 1972, but the popular weekend program blossomed in 1979 when the late Bobby “K” Kaigler and James "Jim Christopher" Eaton joined Homer “Lee” Smith in the broadcasts, providing the nucleus of talent that continues to this day every Saturday on 90.5 WERG.
From those early years, Super Soul Saturday is now a 33-hour block
consisting of music (R&B, Gospel, Classic Soul, Blues, Jazz, Rap, Club,
House, and Hip Hop), public service, and community-oriented information.
Super Soul Saturday can be heard on 90.5 WERG from midnight Saturday until
9 a.m. Sunday morning. Tune-in and experience a blend of musical programming,
community announcements, and the promotion of the positive life experiences
in the Erie minority and greater Erie communities.
